Have you ever played ringette? It is similar sport to hockey and is played on ice. This sport  has different rules than hockey and mostly played by female players. Sam Jacks of North Bay, Ontario invented the game in 1963. The objective of this game is to get the rubber ring into your opponent's net. It is played in countries like Canada, United States, Sweden and Finland. Although a few countries play this sport, Canada has the most participents well over 40,000 people.

THE TEAM
There are six players on the ice at a time from each of the two teams, which includes a center, two forwards, two defenders, and a goal keeper. When some of the players in a team gets a penality, the player should be in the penality box for a certain amount of time and the team plays short handed.

PENALITY
Penalities in ringette is the same as hockey exept it is less violent. Some minor penalties are boarding, charging, cross checking, elbowing, holding, illegal substitution, hooking, high-sticking, tripping, body contact, slashing, interference, delay of game, and unsportsmanlike conduct. The offending player must sit in the penalty box for two minutes depending on how severe the penalty was.

EQUIPMENTS
The players of Ringette are required to wear protective gear just like the ice hockey players. A
ringette stick - can be wooden, plastic or composite, with rubber, metal or plastic tips are used to move the ring around. The players wear player skates ( no figure / plastic beginner skates) - goalies may choose to use goalie skates to skate on the ice. Some of the protective gear used by these players are
shin pads (or goalie pads)
protective girdle
ringette pants - covering pants.
gloves
elbow pads
jersey
helmet with ringette facemask
neck guard
shoulder pads

In Canada, ringette tournaments are held each year during the winter months. This sport is not popular yet. But it sounds like a fun game!!
