Noodles is one of the world's popular foods. Today there are many many types of Noodles made out of rice, wheat, millet, corn and potato starch are available in the market for consumption. 

The first “noodles” is believed to have originated in the Middle East or China during 5000 B.C. and was made by wheat flour. Later in 300 A.D, the Chinese made noodles out of whole grain paste into various noodle-like products. In spite of various cultural differences, China shares Buddhism and the art of noodle-making with Japan. Japanese specialty shops create noodles, similar to those eaten today, but requiring 
considerable preparation time and effort. Buckwheat noodles become a staple of the Japanese tea ceremony. 

It is believed that in the late 13th century, Marco Polo traveled to China and brought noodles back to Italy to add to his country's repertoire of pasta. In the 17th Century the very first spaghetti is produced in Napoli, Italy.  

Today, about 40% of the flour consumed in Asia is for Noodle manufacture. In recent years, noodles have also become very popular outside Asia and this popularity is likely to increase, as we have the instant noodles with all the different flavors. Spaghetti is one of the well-liked foods among Americans, although it has Italian origin. Some say that Spaghetti was originated in Chinese and traders may have brought in it to west. But Noodles were definitely originated in China, recently world oldest noodle, a 4000 year old noodle bowl was excavated.
